Bentley Whitfield
Executive Director and “the Marathon Man”

Bentley Whitfield has been a professor of English & Humanities with the State University of New York (SUNY) since 2002. SUNY is the largest comprehensive public college system in the United States. He is a recipient of the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (One of SUNY’s highest awards). Prof. Whitfield has written and published multiple essays and articles that have been published in over 30 venues including online affiliates of ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. Prof. Whitfield has participated on various boards and served as a senior advisor to three administrations of the National Conference of Black Mayors. He’s been active in many community based activities including having served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the New York City Police Department (NYPD). He is also the recipient of the 2015 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Award. Born and raised in Harlem NY, Professor Whitfield holds a certified financial management
(CFM) degree from The Merrill Lynch School of Advanced Finance, Masters in Comparative Literature from Columbia University and a BA in English literature from Colgate University. He is a masters age athlete and actively competes in marathons and endurance races. In addition, Prof. Whitfield served as director for the Harlem Neighborhood Writers which is a group of over 300 writers. He has also hosted their local television series which featured new writers. Professor Whitfield is married and has a daughter and three sons. Two of his sons have competed as Junior Olympians in USA Track & Field.
Erinn Elizabeth Wright
Director of Outreach and Social Media
Erinn is an educator with over a decade of experience as a licensed teacher. In addition to her teaching experience she has also held administrative positions that included parent outreach and parent organization. Among her passions are expanding the educational horizons for America’s youth. She holds a BA in Education from Towson and a Masters in Human Development with a Concentration in Quantitative Analysis from the University of Maryland in College Park. Erinn, her husband and two daughters live in Beltsville, Maryland.
Clark Whitfield
Project Historian and Editor
Clark is the former assistant with the African American Museum of Nassau County. His experience includes research with print sources for development of new exhibits, researching film footage of Civil Rights and current events to be incorporated into recurring loops for viewing, maintaining archive data records and Outreach and Visitor Services. He completed advanced training at the New York Public Library and the Science, Industry & Business Library -- Research with US Census Analysis, Research With Electronic Sources and Advanced Map Analysis. Clark holds a BA in History from St. John’s University and is a four time USA Junior Olympian in track and field.
Amos Morsby
IT Director
Amos is a technology maven. While formally trained in supply chain mamanagement and computer management by trade, he is also a photographer, videographer and audiophile and accomplished in web development. He has been part of successful supply chain projects and computer based projects in the USA, China and Europe for Bridge Tech Capital Corp, TPS Enterprise, IBM and AT&T. Amos has travelled extensively and speaks both English and Mandarin Chinese. He holds an MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management from Rutgers University and a BA from Carleton College. Amos is an exercise enthusiast and lives in Essex County in New Jersey.
